Mark Steven Frees, 56, of Janesville , passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1957, in Janesville, WI, the son of Gerald E. Frees and Sally (Gutche) Frees. He married the love of his life, Carmen Johnson of Milton, on August 7, 1999. A year later he became a father to the light of his life, Maggie Marcella. He graduated from Craig High School in 1975 and retired from General Motors. He was a unique and amazing son, husband, father, step-father and overall person. He shared many of his thoughts and passions with his daughter; especially his love of music.
Mark is survived by his devoted mother, Sally (Marcella); his very loved wife Carmen, his daughter Maggie, his stepchildren, Morgan (Jess Church) and Luke Spry of Janesville and James Spry of Milton, granddaughter, Jesslyn Spry-Church of Janesville. His parents-in-law Duane and Karen Johnson of Milton and Mary Hughes of Janesville. His brothers-in-law, Craig (Beth) Johnson of Mukwanago and Kevin Johnson of Milton. His sisters-in-law Sharon ( Brian) McCarthy of Milton and Susan (Steve) Lehmkuhl of Elkhorn. Many nieces and nephews and his loyal companion, Sadie. He was preceded in death by his father, his brother, Wayne and parent-in-law, Sam Hughes.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Pastor Naomi Garber will officiate.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
